DIRT 2 prosegue sullo stesso sentiero, proponendosi apertamente come un prodotto che fa della spettacolarità uno dei suoi punti di forza. Tale proposito è sin da subito esplicitato esplorando le opzioni di gioco: il menu minimalista del predecessore è stato sostituito con uninterfaccia grafica colorata e fracassona che porta il giocatore dritto nei paddock delle corse, permettendogli di esplorare attraverso varie schermate la propria roulotte ed il garage dei veicoli, selezionando ad esempio le gare da una cartina del mondo, o le opzioni da un pannello sul muro.
