TRAMA


Vittima dell'invidia dei colleghi e dei superiori, l'agente Nicholas Angel, pluridecorato, viene considerato un esaltato. Con la scusa di una promozione, così, i suoi superiori cercano di allontanarlo il più possibile da Londra, spedendolo in un paesino a 250 km di distanza, dove non accade nulla di emozionante, almeno apparentemente... Seguendo la pista di alcune morti che sembrano casuali, Angel s'imbatte finalmente in un caso "succulento"...




RECENSIONE

Come i fratelli Zucker ci hanno insegnato tramite veri e propri classici della risata del calibro de "L'aereo più pazzo del mondo" (1980) e "Top secret!" (1984), il segreto per ottenere una riuscita parodia è sempre stato quello di riproporre tali e quali i già grotteschi stilemi del genere preso di mira, ponendone maggiormente in evidenza il più o meno latente lato comico.
Ed il regista Edgar Wright è uno che la lezione dimostra di averla appresa a dovere, in quanto, dopo lo sbeffeggiamento degli zombi romeriani nel già cult "L'alba dei morti dementi" (2004), ne riprende il protagonista Simon Pegg, inseparabile compagno di avventure nel mondo dello spettacolo, per infilarlo nei panni del pluridecorato agente di polizia Nicholas Angel, il quale, vittima dell'invidia di colleghi e superiori, viene spedito in un paesino a 250 chilometri da Londra, dove, almeno in apparenza, non accade mai nulla di interessante.
Tra assurdi collezionisti d'armi ed arresti di minorenni cui viene venduto illegalmente l'alcool, quindi, la rigida giustizia metropolitana si trova subito confrontata in maniera esilarante a quella decisamente più superficiale delle cittadine di provincia, fino al momento in cui entra in scena un misterioso serial killer incappucciato, mentre Nicholas fa conoscenza con il suo grasso e goffo collega Danny Butterman, interpretato da Nick Frost ("Kinky boots-Decisamente diversi&quot, affetto da una sfrenata passione per i film d'azione a stelle e strisce.
Perché, pur costruendosi su una trama tranquillamente classificabile nel sottogenere slasher, con strizzatine d'occhio al primo cinema di Peter Jackson - che compare anche in un cammeo nei panni di Babbo Natale - ed al team Broken Lizard (torna particolarmente alla memoria il loro "Vacanze di sangue&quot, è proprio il filone reso noto da titoli come "Arma letale" (1987) e "Die hard-Trappola di cristallo" (198 che "Hot fuzz" intende destrutturate e ridicolizzare.
Un filone che Wright, prendendo di mira soprattutto "Bad boys 2" (2003) di Michael Bay, mostra di conoscere molto bene, sfruttandone lo stesso abuso di steadycam, il montaggio frenetico, i personaggi sboccati e perfino l'epilogo decisivo che arriva faticosamente soltanto dopo un'ultima mezz'ora da antologia della risata; senza dimenticare, tra un'apparizione non accreditata di una camuffata Cate Blanchett ("The gift&quot e l'entrata in scena di Timothy Dalton ("Agente 007-Vendetta privata&quot, sequenze splatter degne dei migliori horror (d'altra parte, ha curato anche "Don't", uno dei fake trailer presenti in "Grindhouse&quot.
E, mentre a regnare è un tipico humour inglese tutt'altro che volgare, si lascia intravedere perfino una forma di denuncia su pellicola, dal sapore politico, relativa al male che si annida in insospettabili realtà provinciali.
Per una commedia non è affatto poco.
